Scarborough
Story: Bus Stop-funkvsrock

I grew up in Scarborough. One of the things I remember so well was waiting for the bus. I got this pic from the internet. I thought it was rad. Because it speaks so much to me about the romance of Scarborough and waitin\' for the bus!

| Is that an old bus shelter in Scarborough? Amazing! - Roger @ 2009-03-16 10:03:17 |
| Design wise it looks like early 70's.
One of these types of bus shelters still existed well in to the later 80's. It was located near the Scarborough Town Centre at McCowan & Ellesmere, near the forest (tree grove), McCowan RT is nearby. As a kid I took notice of it because of the rounded corners and plastic, (which was spacey)and were so funky compared to the ugly square things of the 1980's. The one I saw didn't have Scarborough on it. It stuck around because hardly anyone used the stop, so there was no need to replace or update it until much later - Palydaly @ 2009-06-10 22:06:23 |
