The Beaches
Story: Unconventional Birthday Party-tom

For my son's tenth birthday in the summer of 2000, we invited 15 kids to the R. C. Harris Water Filtration Plant at Queen & Victoria Park in the Beach.
We took a tour of the plant, then had a picnic lunch on the lawn and played frisbee on the beach at the bottom of Nursewood Road.
Best birthday party ever: The kids loved the Very Large Machinery and we parents soaked up the Art Deco ambiance (and the price tag: $0). Everyone, of course, can get behind frisbee and picnics.
