Story: a pearl in the heart of the city!-Mahreen

Winters are so beautiful in this city. Wind blowing and birds coming from up north playing hide n seek in the branches of massive trees… it can’t be better anywhere else. As I sit in the front lawn of the university; I look at the gigantic building that stands tall as a symbol of first women university of the continent of Asia. Throughout the four years of our study here, a teacher kept on telling us that how privileged we are to be studying among the best women of the country with the best facilities at our disposal. In the beginning all these words were meaningless but now I have found the real meaning. This beautiful building formally the home to the president of the country has always been an attraction for me. Before coming to this university my father used to tell about how beautiful it was. I still remember the first time I entered the main gate; I couldn’t get my eyes off the masterpiece of architecture. It’s pure white color and huge pillars with beautiful plaster carvings add to the greatness of the massive structure. The chandeliers, intricate mirror work and hand painted porcelain tiles make it a delight for an art lover. Massive trees around the structure and huge lawns tell thousands of tales about the people who originally owned the place… their love for nature is visible at every single detail of the building. Even after decades this building is still there shining like a pearl in the heart of the city. Every day I sit right in front of it and try to capture the greatness in my camera but no matter how well I try to compose the picture; I fail to capture the aura that surrounds the whole place. Time flies as I try to make more and more attempts and suddenly I realize that it’s time to leave and I pack my bag and grab my camera and hope that may be tomorrow I will be able to get a perfect shot. Its been happening for last four years… still I look at the building like a child who sees something new for the very first time...
